10 Headcanons Meme

10 HEADCANONS MEME

  1. For every character you feel like throwing at this meme, post ten headcanons you have about them.
  2. Headcanons can be big ("Here is the backstory we never got in-canon") or small ("He likes jellybeans")
  3. Go around asking others questions, if you feel like it. ("What kind of jellybeans does he like best?")
  4. ~Learn from each other~

1. Casey has brain damage. That's more stealing canon from another adaptation than it is a headcanon, but 2012 Casey has a metal plate in his skull in a place consistent with the damage done to Mirage Casey. 2012 Casey's behavior is pretty consistent for someone with impaired problem solving, emotion, and impulse control and he wears his bandanna to cover the scar.

2. He got the damage defending his little sister from a gang of street toughs who were threatening her. During the fight they smashed his head into the wall, cracking it open. Understandably, he doesn't remember all that much about the incident.

3. Casey's dad is a neglectful alcoholic. I wrote a whole thing on it in that link and again, stealin' canon, this time from IDW.

4. He's pretty estranged with his extended family. They just aren't close because they don't make much of an effort to keep in touch.

5. He really, really hates crying in front of other people. He doesn't cry much to begin with, but when he can't help it, he goes off by himself.

6. He has almost no organizational skills. At all. His method of storing his giant knife is to just stab it into his desk. As a result, he trips over things all the time. He also has no idea how to clean (I saw you wiping the drapes in the farmhouse with a paper towel, Jones, everyone saw it.)

7. Casey's been named MVP of his hockey team more than once. He actually rarely spends much time in the penalty box.

8. He loves haunted houses, but it takes a lot to scare him anymore. He's a) been to too many of them and b) takes on real, actual, dangerous monsters all the time.

9. He's hurt his neck headbanging at concerts more than once.

10. Casey has a pack of cigarettes stored somewhere in his room. He got them off a member of his hockey team, tried one, and then never touched them again. He had a lighter long before he got the cigarettes, though.

1. Greg had a pretty good relationship with his parents, but they died when he was pretty young. He must not have any connections if he could just travel the country and settle down without issue, and his parental hangups come more from wondering if he's doing it right, so it's less likely bad blood between Grandma and Grandpa Universe and more likely he has no personal example to draw from.

2. He eats a vegetable like once a week. It's so much easier to just go buy pizza or hot dogs...

3. He was going for a science major before dropping out of college. Space is great.

4. Most people in Beach City don't know about Greg and Rose's relationship. They know he's Steven's dad, and Steven is that weird kid who hangs out with the weird magic ladies, but haven't really put together where Greg fits in with that.

5. Up until super recently, Steven was the only one who really heard Greg do music for the last 10 or so years. He's only just gotten back the confidence to start performing again.

6. That farmer's tan is a permanent mark from Rose's death and the light burst she gave off when Steven was born.

7. As evidenced by his insanely cramped storage unit, he has a bit of a problem resisting buying useless knickknacks. Buy t-shirt cannons!

8. I mean this has sort of been established but he's been practicing his drawing a lot over the years, he's pretty good at art.

9. Steven's game consoles are hand-me downs from Greg's collection of stuff. Good games are relevant regardless of generation!

10. This is shown in the show but I just want to remind everyone that Greg likes sexy space babe romance novels

Does Greg go anywhere/do anything in particular when he's missing Rose? If so, will he be able to do anything like that in Freesia, or will he try to find something else?

Sometimes he'll just hang out alone at the beach, picking out that tune she liked on his guitar. Considering where he lives, it doesn't really seem all that special or suspicious, but it's the only place they really got to be together, and all he really needs is time to be alone.

In Freesia, there isn't quite so much around him that reminds him of Rose, and Rose isn't the only one he's missing. Right now, he's not sure what to do, but in time I think he'll find doing a bit of gardening via his magic will provide a bit of a calming effect. Magic's about the only thing around here that connects to home, even if it shouldn't be his.

1 Even though his father never really physically harmed him, Riddler has a kneejerk internal distress response to the sight of a baseball bat or ball, mostly due to how often those were used to destroy his things as well as the fear that one day Mr. Nashton would go too far.

2 His father’s name was Billy Nashton. Riddler changed his name to Edward Nygma as soon as legally able, to distance himself from his father as well as the wordplay aspect of it.

3 Riddler hates being called anything but what he chooses. His father never called him Edward, only Champ. It’s why he calls people he dislikes by nicknames; it shows disrespect without being pathetically crude.

4 The closest thing to a home he ever had was Gotham University’s labs.

5 He doesn’t know how to handle feeling sad. At all. He either gets angry instead or shoves it down until he just feels empty.

6 He hates crying. Doing it makes him feel weak and pathetic. Seeing it makes him feel like something’s crawling over his skin.

7 Riddler doesn’t really feel hunger, at least not to the point he can’t ignore it most of the time. Plus when he’s stressed he ends up feeling a bit too sick to eat.

8 He planned to die right after he took Gorman out both times, until Batman (who didn’t quite know of said plans) put the ideas into his head there was something different to do.

9 His mother left the family when he was only three or four, and she died before he could find her again.

10 He genuinely doesn’t believe anyone could ever care about him anymore.

1. Guns make Aaron very uncomfortable. It doesn't take much to use them, but the impact is so much greater than using fists or most other weapons.

2. Surprisingly, Aaron isn't afraid of heights. He is afraid of falling, though, but he takes the risk to climb onto high places to either do reconnaissance or to simply enjoy the surroundings.

3. Large animals and people terrify him unless he knows they're safe.

4. Loud noises and especially yelling put him incredibly on edge, but he's smart enough not to freeze up or blame himself for everything-- although he still does the latter, and quite often.

5. Aaron was actually very interested in the faith he was born into, and was baptized and confirmed (Saint Blaise). He knows enough to refute the various -phobes out there, but only if they listen.

6. Due to binding inappropriately he has a malformed ribcage. It can be a bit of a shocker to people, and he's incredibly self-conscious about it. It also made his bones there weaker. In a fight with the Batman, two were fractured and healed badly, leaving visible bumps on his skin.

7. Aaron at his best hates conflict and often tries to appease both parties or act as mediator in the event of an argument-- if he is one, is open and willing to listen to other opinions. At his worst, he denies there is any problem, even if he knows it will turn out badly for him later.

8. He is not one to freeze in fear. When he does, it's for something extremely bad. Normally he either fights back to defend himself or others, or runs.

9. He is skilled with polearm-type weapons like his former shock prod, or plain dowels or rebar he may find laying around, and also is very good with medical tools.

10. Aaron used to be prone to unhealthy idolization. He broke out of it in his early teenage years, but the damage was already done, and the rejection from the people he was closest to helped change the idolization into bitterness and cynicism. That faded, too, and he's managed to hit a happy medium, but both examples still happen from time to time.
